Tailor Made Costa Brava and Islands Tour

Day 1: ARRIVAL AND CHOCOLATE

As you arrive at El Prat Airport, meet your driver for the ride to your hotel in the Gothic Quarters. In the afternoon, get out for a stroll through Barcelona’s oldest section.  We’ll have a Chocolate Experience reserved for you at the Chocolate Museum.

Day 2: BARCELONA COOKING CLASS

About midmorning, meet your guide and chef at “La Boquería” Market. Listen to your introduction to traditional Catalan food and products.  Breathe in the sharp aromas of cheese, olives, sausage and wine. Watch the people and kaleidoscope of colors on display.  Head back to the cooking studio, where you’ll try a selection of tapas from different Spanish cities. Finally, begin to cook a traditional meal of paella, tortilla and crema catalana. Eat your own dishes paired with local wines.

Day 3: GAUDÍ TOUR

In the morning, meet your guide just outside your hotel. Experience the artistic masterpieces of Gaudí on a half-day biking tour. Begin at the unfinished Sagrada Familia Basilica, going inside with your skip-the-line tickets. Continue on to Park Güell, a quirky outdoor park full of Gaudís unique designs. Next, head down Paseo de Gracia Boulevard and admire the intricate façades of Pedrera and Casa Batlló. You’ll also see Hospital St. Pau, Casa Vicens and other Gaudí highlights.

Day 4: MONTSERRAT

Meet your driver for the ride to Montserrat. Explore the monastery on your own. If you’d like to do some light hiking catch the rack train all the way to the top for lovely views of Barcelona below. Take time for lunch and meet your driver for the ride down to Costa Brava. The tailor made tour continues!

Day 5: COSTA BRAVA KAYAKING

Walk down to the beach near your hotels and join a group for a 3-hour kayaking tour of the surrounding coves and sea caves.  We can do this early morning or more towards sunset.

Day 6: FREE DAY

Spend the morning snorkeling. Meet your driver for the ride back to Barcelona in the evening. Catch a short flight to Menorca. We’ll have another driver take you to your hotel.

Day 7: SOLLER

Meet your guide and driver in the lobby to drive to Soller. Once you get there, your guide will show you this lovely medieval town with a walking tour. Catch the tram down to the coast for time on your own. In the late afternoon, hop on the train from Soller back to Palma.

Day 8: HAMS’ CAVES

In the morning, we will take you to the fascinating Caves of Hams, a less touristy version of the caves in Mallorca. These were the first caves open to the public in Spain. See the Round Caves, with their botanical gardens. Then, in the Blue Caves, watch a historical documentary film about Mallorca and these caves itself. End your tour with a music show in the Classic Caves, made up of 12 galleries and where you’ll find the Venezia Sea lake. Stop in the medieval market town of Santanyí for lunch on your own. Your driver will take you to beautiful Caló des Moro for some beach time. Return to Palma.

Day 9: SA DRAGONERA ISLAND

Meet your driver and guide for the ride to St. Elm. From here, catch a small ferry out to the nature preserve Sa Dragonera Island. Apart from being a mystical natural beauty, the island is home to thousands of tiny lizards.  Take a morning hike with your guide, stopping to cool off in the crystal water surrounding the island. Return by ferry to St. Elm in the afternoon. Stop in Port Andratx for lunch before returning to Palma.

A driver will take you to Palma Port where you can catch the ferry to Ibiza. As you arrive, check in at your hotel and meet your guide for a tour of the island by 4×4. First on the itinerary is the Natural Park of Ses Salines and San Francesc de S’Estany. Visit the Tower of Pink Salt that once protected the salt flats from pirates.  Walk along the beaches at Es Cavellet, Ses Salines and enjoy the views from Cape Falcó and Rama Point. Next head inland to see the highest point on the island at San Josep de Sa Talaia. In the afternoon, head to the northern part of the island.  Take a very short hike to see the magnificent views over San Juan and Portinatx. Visit Port San Miguel, Benirras and Marina Botafoch. In the late afternoon, return to Ibiza and your hotel.

Day 12: FORMENTERA

Catch the ferry from Playa D’en Bossa Port to Formentera for the day with AquaBus Ferry. We’ll have rental bikes waiting on you there with Motos Pujol just as you come off the ferry so you can discover the tiny island. Return to Ibiza in the evening.

Day 13: MADRID

Meet your driver for the ride to Ibiza Airport to fly back to Madrid. Spend one last night here.
