Jewish Heritage Sevilla

Your guide will be waiting after lunch to take you on a walking tour of the Jewish Heritage in Sevilla.  We always try to include a Jewish guide on this tour, as their perception is closer to a 1st person account. Begin at the city walls, passing the Murillo gardens and entering the small labyrinth of Barrio Santa Cruz – the Jewish Quarters.  See the home of Samuel Ha Levi, counselor to Peter the Cruel.  As you walk, your guide will tell you the legends of the people enclosed in this “ghetto”. When 1492 came along, the time for the Jews ended and they began to travel all over the world. There are still many groups nowadays that conserve the “Ladino” language and culture. End the tour with a visit to the ancient synagogue at Santa María la Blanca church.
