Enjoy a Jaén Day Trip, a city of interior southern Spain.
While Andalucía is well known for its beaches and long coasts, its interior cities and villages have a lot to offer.
Jaén is one of the oldest cities in all of Andalucía. When you see the large ramparts and defensive wall, you´ll realize that a good part of its heritage is Muslim. Several of the highlights are Castillo de Santa Catalina, the Alcazar and the Cathedral. From the same period, the magnificent Arab baths are the largest in all of Europe.
During your visit to Jaén your guide will walk you through the city with stops at the most emblematic sites. The hot sun over cobblestone will make you appreciate the cool interior of monuments.
If you can´t spend the entire day, you can do the half-day tour. Some of the points to visit are: Plaza de San Ildefonso, Plaza de Santa María, Santa Iglesia Catedral, Iglesia de San Juan, Palacio de Villardompardo (Arab baths, Museo de Arte Naïf, Museo de las costumbres), Iglesia de la Magdalena, Cueva del Lagarto, Archivo Histórico, Teatro Darymelia, Plaza de San Francisco.
If you can spend all day in Jaén, definitely add a climb up to the Castle and the provincial museum
During your visit enter the main Cathedral. This is one of the most important Renaissance buildings in Jaén with its gorgeous Baroque facade.
Santa Catalina Castle is also worth a visit. This building is proof of the importance of the Renaissance in Jaén.
As you near the end of your visit you make a stop at the Arab baths and Villadompardo Palace with your guide. This entire building houses the biggest Arab baths in Europe. It is currently a cultural center where you can find the Museo de las Costumbres and Museo de Arte Naïf.
