If you like animals and nature, the Pyrennees National Park is a must-see. This wild, well-preserved territory has the highest peaks in the French Pyrennees – over 3000 meters! There is an abundace of waterfalls and mountain torrents, many high-altitude lakes and vast swathes of forest.
All along the French Spanish border, these giant peaks tower above the greenery of pine trees, rare lilies and other small wonders. Come and see marmots, lynxes, brown bears, chamoises, falcons and eagles!
You may want to plan stops in the spa town of Cauterets or hike up the Balaitous. Visit tiny medieval towns or fly in a hot air balloon over ancient volcanoes.
