Description
Ascend into the Alpujarra mountains, half-way between Granada and the Mediterranean. This entire area was inhabited by the conquered Moors until the mid-1500’s, when they were expelled from Spain. We’ll climb the mountain roads up the highest range in Spain to Lanjarón, famous for its springs and thermal spa. Visit this old establishment and drink the thermal waters. Continue along through picturesque villages like Bubión, Capileira, Pampaneira and Portugos. Depending on the season you might enjoy some snow! Finish the day in Trevélez, the highest villages in Spain with a visit to an Iberian ham drying factory and a tasting. Take some time for a hearty mountain lunch at the end of the tour.
